Enable PMI and use the tivoli performance viewer
Why and when to perform this task
To monitor performance data through the performance monitoring infrastructure (PMI) interfaces, you must first enable PMI services through the administrative console.
Steps for this task
- Open the administrative console.
- Click Servers > Application Servers in the console navigation tree.
- Click server.
- Click the Configuration tab.
When in the Configuration tab, settings will apply once the server is restarted. When in the Runtime Tab, settings will apply immediately. Be aware that the list of modules in the Runtime tab may be different from the list of modules in the Configuration tab. The Runtime tab displays modules that are relevant for the running server, but the Configuration tab displays a static list of modules that may or may not be applicable to the server.
Note: Enablement of Performance Monitoring Service can only be done in the Configuration tab.
- Click Performance Monitoring Service.
- Select the checkbox Startup.
(Optional) Select the PMI modules and levels to set the initial specification level field.
- Click Apply or OK.
- Click Save.
- Restart the application server.
The changes you make will not take affect until you restart the application server.
